The Challenge
To provide guidance on how to rigorously measure the welfare impacts of new products and services, DIL researchers are developing an online information portal focused on impact evaluation techniques, methodologies, and tools. This toolkit will be tailored to enable users to assess technologies in different sectors, contexts, and geographic settings.
The Approach
The Impact Assessment Toolkit will focus on quasi-experimental impact evaluation techniques, since experimental methods (i.e. randomized controlled trials) are richly documented by DIL partners, including Innovations for Poverty Action and the Jameel Poverty Action Lab at MIT.
All tools developed by DIL will be released as open-source and continuously validated and refined based on new evidence. More information on the Impact Assessment Toolkit could be found on CEGA’s website here.
