DIL will be hosting a workshop on Documenting your Field Research through Video on Wednesday, February 25 in 100 Blum Hall.
Facilitated by Roxanne Makasdjian, Manager of Broadcast Communications at UC Berkeley’s Media Relations team, this workshop will provide students and researchers with tips and best practices in video documenting your field work both locally and internationally.
Roxanne leads UC Berkeley’s broadcast communications efforts within the university’s Public Affairs office, managing daily requests for broadcast news productions on campus and broadcast media planning for major campus events. She produces short videos telling the university’s stories, and works with professors and scientists to communicate their work effectively through the news media. Some of her most recent work with students include:
- Mobile Democracy in Ghana: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FBOEpsfnoQ
- When will the Next Drop of Water Come?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czXDGv0iO4I
DIL Workshops are designed to support DIL projects through their innovation pipeline. Workshops are facilitated by experts and focus on topics such as IRB approval, intellectual property, and M&E, to name a few. DIL Workshops will be held once a month.
